BIOGRAPHY
ROTH BART BARON（ロットバルトバロン）は、シンガーソングライター 三船雅也 を中心に2009年より活動する、日本・東京出身のフォーク・ロック・バンド。数多くの大型音楽フェスティバルで存在感を示し、FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL にも出演。大自然を想起させるスケール感とUSインディー由来のバンド・アンサンブルに、テクノロジーを果敢に取り入れた独自のサウンドスケープを構築している。
美しいメロディに寄り添う詞世界は、時代の文脈のなかで揺れ動く主人公の現実と内面の境界を溶かしながら、人間本来の心の回復や“蘇生”を描写。その有機的かつ開かれた音楽性は、日本のみならず世界各地の音楽ファンを魅了し続けている。
最新アルバムは、2025年11月5日にリリースされた『LOST AND FOUND』。ゲストボーカルに 塩塚モエカ（羊文学） を迎えた「Crystal」や、山中遥子 監督によるMusic Videoが話題を呼んだ「You’re the Best Person in This World」などを収録。アルバムの世界観を拡張する全国ツアーも開催され、ファイナル公演は3月20日(金祝) 渋谷O-EAST にて行われる。
2021年にはアイナ・ジ・エンドとのユニット A_o による「BLUE SOULS」がポカリスエットのCMソングとして注目を集める。2022年には、ベルリン国際映画祭にてアムネスティ国際映画賞を受賞した映画『マイスモールランド』の劇伴および主題歌を担当し、映画音楽の分野でも高い評価を獲得。
さらに2024年には、NHK総合テレビ『tiny desk concerts JAPAN』に出演。1stアルバム『The Ice Age』リリース10周年を記念した全国ツアー「Ice Age : Melt and Blooms」では、ファイナル公演にて 岩井俊二 監督による映像演出が話題を呼ぶなど、音楽と映像を横断する表現で活動の幅を広げている。
ROTH BART BARON is a folk-rock band from Tokyo, Japan, formed in 2009 around singer-songwriter Masaya Mifune. The band has built a strong presence at major music festivals, including multiple appearances at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. Blending a sense of vast, nature-inspired scale with US indie–rooted band ensembles, they construct a distinctive soundscape that boldly incorporates modern technology.
Their lyrical world, closely intertwined with beautiful melodies, blurs the boundary between reality and the inner lives of its protagonists as they sway within the context of their time. Through this ambiguity, the songs portray themes of emotional recovery and rebirth, seeking to reclaim what is fundamentally human. This organic and open-ended musical approach continues to captivate music fans not only in Japan but around the world.
Their latest album, LOST AND FOUND, was released on November 6, 2025. The record features “Crystal,” with guest vocals by Moeka Shiotsuka (Hitsujibungaku), as well as “You’re the Best Person in This World,” whose music video—directed by Haruko Yamanaka—has drawn widespread attention. A nationwide tour expanding the album’s world is currently underway, with the final show scheduled for March 20 (Fri, national holiday) at Shibuya O-EAST.
In 2021, their collaborative unit A_o with AiNA THE END gained major recognition when the song “BLUE SOULS” was featured in a Pocari Sweat television commercial. In 2022, ROTH BART BARON composed the score and theme song for the film My Small Land, which received the Amnesty International Film Award at the Berlin International Film Festival, further establishing their presence in the field of film music.
In 2024, the band appeared on NHK’s tiny desk concerts JAPAN. They also held a nationwide tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their first album, The Ice Age, titled “Ice Age : Melt and Blooms.” The tour’s final performance featured visual direction by renowned filmmaker Shunji Iwai, drawing acclaim for its seamless fusion of music and film and highlighting the band’s continually expanding artistic scope.

ROTH BART BARON is a Japanese folk-rock band led by singer-songwriter Masaya Mifune. The band was formed and has been based in Tokyo, Japan, since 2008.
The band has released four EPs and eight original albums. The 1st LP, "The Ice Age," was recorded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with Brian McTear (Kurt Vile, the War on Drugs) and mix engineer Jonathan Low (The National, Taylor Swift). The 2nd LP, "Atom," was recorded at God Speed You! Black Emperor's studio, “Hotel2tango,” in Montreal, Canada. The 4th LP, "The Name of the Beasts," was awarded the grand prize at Japan's alternative music awards, <APPLE VINEGAR - Music Award -2020>. In 2021, the song "BLUE SOULS" by A_o, a duo of artists featuring Aina the End, garnered 3.7 million views on YouTube.In 2022, they composed the music and theme song for the film “My Small Land,” which won the “Amnesty International Film Award” at the “Berlin International Film Festival 2022.”
In 2023, they participated in numerous major music festivals in Japan, including the "FUJI ROCK Festival 2023." On August 4, 2024, they held “BEAR NIGHT 5” at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA with a special 9-piece band, featuring guests Moeka Shiotsuka (Hitsujibungaku), Salyu, YONCE (Suchmos, Hedigan's) and Soushi Sakiyama.
Notably, they also operates “PALACE,” a band community of fans, and has a volunteer team that supports the band's activities by being involved in live production and box-office management. Fans themselves are also a part of the band, producing goods and providing attractions at the venue's events, actively working to create a system where they can enjoy and experience creativity together.
They announced “10th Anv TOUR 2024-2025 / Ice Age: Melt and Blooms” to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their 1st AL “THE ICE AGE”.
